It Is Never Too Late for a Better Bite
Adult orthodontic treatment has grown significantly in recent years, and Invisalign is a primary reason why. For adults who want to correct alignment issues — whether from childhood or from gradual shifting over time — clear aligners offer a discreet, flexible treatment option that fits into an adult professional life in a way that traditional braces often do not.
At Bright Healthy Smiles, we treat adult orthodontic patients alongside our pediatric and teen patients. Many parents who began Invisalign treatment for their kids at our NYC office decided it was finally time to address their own alignment concerns in the same waiting room.

What Adult Invisalign Can Address
Adult Invisalign can treat the same range of alignment issues as teen treatment, including crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, and crossbite. Adults tend to be highly compliant with aligner wear — which is one reason adult Invisalign treatment outcomes are often excellent.
The primary difference in adult treatment is that jaw growth is complete, which means skeletal issues cannot be addressed through growth modification. Significant bite discrepancies in adults may require coordination with an oral surgeon. For the majority of adult patients, however, Invisalign alone is sufficient to achieve the desired result.
What to Expect from Adult Invisalign at Bright Healthy Smiles
Adult treatment begins with a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation and digital records, including photographs and scans. Our orthodontists develop a personalized treatment plan and show you a digital simulation of your projected tooth movement before treatment begins. You will change aligners approximately every week to two weeks, with check-in appointments every 6 to 8 weeks.
Treatment length varies but typically ranges from 12 to 24 months for most adult cases. A retainer is worn after treatment to maintain results — this is essential for adults, as teeth can shift over time without proper retention.
