Tooth-Colored Fillings for Children

Safe, Strong, and Natural-Looking Solutions

When cavities occur, our goal is to treat them conservatively and comfortably while preserving as much of your child’s natural tooth as possible. At Bright Healthy Smiles, we use the most advanced, tooth-colored materials to restore both function and appearance—so your child can smile with confidence.

Composite Fillings

Composite resin is one of the most commonly used materials in pediatric dentistry. These tooth-colored fillings are durable, blend beautifully with the natural shade of your child’s teeth, and can be completed in just one visit.

Once the area of decay is gently removed, the composite material is applied in layers, shaped to match the tooth, and then cured with a special light to harden it instantly. This process allows your child to leave their appointment with a fully restored smile—no waiting required.

Glass Ionomer Fillings

Another option we often use is glass ionomer cement, a tooth-colored material that releases fluoride over time, helping to protect the surrounding enamel and prevent future decay. Glass ionomer is especially helpful in younger children or in situations where perfect moisture control is more challenging. It bonds naturally to the tooth and is a great solution for smaller cavities or for children who are still building comfort with dental visits.

A Personalized Approach

Every child is different, and so are their dental needs. Our pediatric dentists carefully assess each case to choose the best filling material based on your child’s age, the location and size of the cavity, and how comfortable they are during treatment. We prioritize gentle techniques and a reassuring environment to make the experience as easy and positive as possible.
